Accreditation is a process whereby a chapter’s performance for the year is documented with the goal of obtaining good standing for the next school year. Submitting the Accreditation Submission of the Annual Report to the Fraternity (with the section for each standard of operation completed) is mandatory for all chapters. Failure to submit a copmlete report will result in chapter suspension. The Grand Lodge may also impose additional chapter or individual officer sanctions deemed appropriate.
Chapters that meet six (6) or more Standards of Operation will be accredited for the next school year. In addition, chapters that complete and submit the awards criteria section of the Annual Report to the Fraternity are eligible for national award recognition as explained here..
A chapter that does not receive accreditation will be required to create and execute a corrective action plan to ensure improvement for the future. The chapter will have until the next Annual Report to improve its standing. Failure to improve during that year may result in sanctions and/or corrective action that may include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Any chapter not receiving accreditation may appeal the decision and request a review of their report by the Grand Lodge, whose decision will be final.
All accredited chapters should prepare action plans to address any Standards of Operation(s) for which the chapter did not meet the standard. All chapters shall strive to obtain accreditation and improve its operations to achieve higher levels of performance.
